Ben and Jane is an enjoyable piece of fantasy work, somewhat reminiscent of the chronicles of Luminea by Ben hale, though with more edge right off the bat. The main characters wade into the heart of the conflict, only to be immediately find themselves in the thick of action without immediate guarantee of resolution. Kelly does a masterful job of ratcheting up the drama in a steady fashion, piling problem upon problem, and then delivers the catharsis at the precise moment. This was a delightful read that hints of more to come. A very well written story.

Ben and Jane is a delight for fantasy fans, especially if magic is your thing. Fast-paced and full of action, it’s a tale that poses more questions than it answers, for the world, magic, and the characters have stories of their own, stories that I’m eager to discover.
